The Paras World School India celebrated Road Safety Week

In a bid to spread awareness amongst the neighbourhood, students of ‘The Paras World School India (TPWSI), Gurgaon in collaboration with the local traffic police of Sector 50 & amp; South City 2, Gurgaon celebrated Road Safety Week from 24th - 30th July 2017. This student driven initiative was the kick start of week long campaign in the neighbourhood to drive home the importance of road safety.

Students of Paras World School stood at major traffic signals with placards displaying important messages to urge people to buckle their seat belts, stop at the RED light, to double check the tread of their tyres and blades of their wipers, amongst others like dangers of lane crossing and overtaking at the curbs.

“Number of deaths because of road accidents are increasing at a fast rate in India.Our children who are the future of the nation, are passionate about reiterating the importance of following road safety rules & amp; putting them across strongly to the people around. We are happy to initiate this drive”, said Ms. Yasmin Khan,Principal of the school. 

Students spoke with drivers about the need to go slow around schools and hospitals and to stop behind the zebra crossing. As a part of this campaign, The Paras World School, faculty was taking students to the traffic park and run them through simulated situations so they grow up being students with good civic sense.This was well timed as the MCG (Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon) is also working on stopping illegal parking and insisting on NO HORN zones. When generation next goes forward to assist civic bodies the message certainly goes down to every parent and citizen of the country.
