Jharkhand Police Cracks Down On CBSE Piracy

The Jharkhand police detained the store's proprietor Suraj Barnwal for selling copies of Educart's CBSE Class 10 sample papers for the 2024 session. He was detained under IPC 420 and Copyright Act 63 by Bokaro police, also filed a formal complaint against him.

“Students should not be duped by dishonest retailers into purchasing low-quality copies of Educart books”, Educart, said. Pirated books found by the police during the raid could easily be identified from the originals due to their poor quality paper, sloppy print and notably darkened graphics.

Educart, renowned for CBSE and NEET books, has launched a drive to stop publishing piracy throughout India. The goal of this campaign is to safeguard both the brand's goodwill and the educational opportunities for students who use Educart books to help them study for examinations.

"We must continue to uphold the integrity of our teaching resources. These illegal copies harm not just our company but also the educational experience of students who may use them without realising it. Our nationwide campaign against piracy aims to safeguard not only our products but also the quality of education and the resources accessible to students”, Mukti Gupta, Compliance Head, Agrawal Group of Publications, said.
