J&K Government Mandates Uniform Morning Assemblies In Schools

The Jammu & Kashmir Government has mandated uniform Morning Assemblies in all schools, emphasising a 20-minute duration starting with the National Anthem to foster unity and discipline among students

In an effort to foster a sense of unity, discipline, and moral integrity among students, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir's School Education Department has issued new guidelines for the conduct of Morning Assemblies in schools across the Union Territory.

Morning Assemblies, a longstanding tradition in the schooling system, play a crucial role in starting the school day positively and nurturing community values and mental tranquillity. However, it has come to the department's attention that this important ritual is not being uniformly observed in all schools within Jammu & Kashmir.

To ensure consistency and maximise the benefits of this practice, the following guidelines have been established:

Duration and Participation

Morning Assemblies will last for 20 minutes. All students and teachers are required to assemble at the designated area at the beginning of the school schedule.
National Anthem

The assembly will commence with the National Anthem, following the standard protocol.

These guidelines aim to standardise the practice of Morning Assemblies, ensuring that every student begins their day on a unified and disciplined note, reinforcing the values essential for their overall development.
