GEMS Education Celebrates The Spirit Of Educators On International Teachers' Day

GEMS Education, the world’s largest private K-12 school education provider organized the event “Proud To Be A Teacher” to celebrate the International Teachers’ Day 2017. The program featured India’s renowned educators who celebrated and highlighted the contribution of teachers towards the education, nation building and development of children around the world.


The program started with first session, ‘Story of A Teacher’ narrated by Mr. Amreesh Chandra - Group President, GEMS Education India. Speaking about the program, he said, “Teachers play a key role in sustaining learning capacity and creating societies based on knowledge, values and ethics. Their teachings help the students to better connect with people and do things beyond their limits. On the occasion of ‘International Teachers' Day’, it is imperative to acknowledge the educators and say thanks for the significant role they play in classrooms and communities.”


The program covered some interesting anecdotes about teachers and education in sessions like ‘Teacher and the Taught’, ‘Importance of a Teacher in Moulding an Individual’s Life’, ‘Ode to a Teacher’, and ‘Celebrating the Essence of a Teacher in Society’.


The list of esteemed guest panelists included Ms. Gauri Ishwaran, Educationist and CEO, Global Education and Leadership Foundation; Dr. Pritam Singh, Padma Shri recipient and Educationist; Mr. Rohan Sandhu, University of Chicago; Dr. Neeru Madhuri Parti – Head, Lakshmipat Singhania Education Foundation; Ms. Lata Vaidya Nathan, Educationist and Director- TERI Prakriti School and Ms. Bindu Rana, Director Educom (R&D) and Founder & CEO, Millennium Education Management among others.


Ms. Kaadambari Muttoo, Vice President- Education (GEMS education) and Ms. Shalini Nambiar, Principal - GEMS International School also expressed their appreciation to the teachers who moulded and shaped them into becoming the person they are now. The program was concluded with a ‘story telling’ session by Ms. Simi Srivastava, the master storyteller and founder of Kathashala.
