BMU's Vice Chancellor Dr. Satya Wins Best VC Award

(BMU) BML Munjal University’s Vice Chancellor Professor B. S. Satyanarayana was awarded the “Best Vice-Chancellor Terna Mathworks Award” today. The award was conferred by the Indian Engineering Educators and Administrators Conference (IEEAC-2017) in recognition of his key role towards research and innovation and hands-on and cross-disciplinary learning.

Professor Satya is also playing an instrumental role in helping set BMU up as a Green campus,teaching his students how to ensure a sustainability model on campus.

Prof Satyanarayana has two patents to his name. He has initiated & implemented many projects, with funding to the tune of over $ 50 million, published over 120 papers in journals & conf. proceedings, and delivered over 200 invited and contributed presentations in conferences and workshops.

B. S. Satyanarayana holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Eng. from Cambridge University UK. He has over 30 years of experience working in Industry, R&D institutions, Academics and Government Policy in India, UK and Japan and with other international partners.

 Expressing his gratitude while accepting the award, Prof Satyanarayana said, “I feel honoured for being recognised for my work. I am humbled to receive this award. I would also like to thank BML Munjal University for giving me a perfect platform by working with the University Team in evolving a new pedagogy for outcome based education, linking interdisciplinary experiential learning, sustainability, and social responsibility, with industry–academic interaction, research and inclusive innovation. This is a recognition of the hard work and dedication we have put in over the last few years”.

Recently, the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee dedicated BML Munjal University to the nation, calling it ‘one of the finest private universities in the country'. BMU fosters a unique learning environment that nurtures the spirit of enquiry, creativity, problem solving, entrepreneurship and innovation. The curriculum inculcates a raft of values, job and life skills.
