Samsung has partnered with MeitY's Startup Hub, FITT, IIT Delhi and the United Nations for the third season of 'Solve for Tomorrow' in India.

Samsung's 'Solve for Tomorrow' programme has two tracks: School Track and Youth Track. The School Track is designed for students aged 14-17, focusing on community and inclusion, aiming to improve accessibility to health and social inclusion. The Youth Track, on the other hand, targets individuals aged 18-22, focusing on environment and sustainability.

Both tracks aim to promote innovative ideas for reducing carbon footprints, protecting the environment and promoting sustainability. The programme will run simultaneously, ensuring equal opportunity and a level playing field for all students. Applications are open from April 09, 2024, until May 31, 2024.

14-17 year-olds are invited in the school track to submit ideas in the ‘Community & Inclusion’ theme, while 18-22 year-olds in youth track can submit ideas in the ‘Environment & Sustainability’ theme individually or in teams.

The ‘Community & Inclusion’ track focuses on empowering underprivileged groups through health, education and social inclusion, while the ‘Environment & Sustainability’ track promotes environmental protection and sustainability.

Participants will receive hands-on training from industry experts like Samsung, MeitY and IIT-Delhi, technical support from the United Nations in India, exclusive mentoring and coaching, a curated innovation walk with Samsung leaders and milestone-based grants for prototype development and enhancement.

School Track awards 10 teams INR 20,000 for prototype development and Samsung Galaxy Tabs, while 5 finalists each receive INR 1 Lakh for prototype enhancement and Samsung Galaxy Watches.

Youth Track grants INR 20,000 to 10 semi-finalists for prototype development and Samsung Galaxy Laptops and INR 1 Lakh each to 5 finalists for prototype enhancement and Samsung Z Flip Smartphones.

The Solve for Tomorrow 2024 competition offers two tracks for winners. The School Track winners will be declared as ‘Community Champions’ and receive a seed grant of INR 25 Lakh for prototype advancement. They will also receive Samsung products to enhance their educational offerings and promote problem-solving. The Youth Track winners will be declared as ‘Environment Champions’ and receive INR 50 Lakh for incubation at IIT-Delhi, as well as Samsung products to boost their educational offerings.

Samsung is inviting applications for its Solve for Tomorrow competition, which will run from April 09, 2024, until 5 PM IST on May 31, 2024, with the deadline for submissions being 5 pm.
