Prodigy Finance has announced Michael Kofi Acheampont from Ghana as the recipient of the $5,000 African Student Matching Scholarship. Michael plans to take admission in the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at the University of Louisville - College of Business starting in Spring 2025. He earned this recognition due to his academic potential, leadership abilities and his desire to make a positive impact in his community.
Michael has decided to study abroad to get a global business perspective and also gain personal and professional growth. He chose the University of Louisville for its business education innovation with a strong focus on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and preparing leaders for the future.
“This scholarship eases the finances for my studies abroad and also allows me to better focus on my studies and future career development. It is a stepping stone towards achieving my academic and professional goals,” Michael shared. “I am eager to contribute to my community by helping small businesses thrive and promoting sustainable business practices.”
The University of Louisville College of Business bridges theory with practice, which he sees as key to preparing graduates to tackle real-world problems. The school's emphasis on social responsibility and sustainability strongly aligns with his values.
Michael wants to use his education to uplift others in his community. He plans to help small business owners in Ghana with strategic planning and financial management. “I believe education is a tool for societal development,” he said. “I want to contribute to economic growth by empowering others with knowledge and resources.” In the future, Michael envisions himself taking on leadership roles where he can shape decisions and drive change within organisations. He wants to work in industries that focus on technological sustainability, solving big problems like climate change, and promoting responsible business practices.
