Ali Debnat Receives NSS Award By President Of India

ICFAI University, Tripura student Ali Debnath was conferred the prestigious National Service Scheme (NSS) Award for the year 2021-2022 for the state of Tripura by the President of India Droupadi Murmu in recognition of outstanding contribution and benedictory works she has rendered to the society.

Debnath enthusiastically commented “Receiving the National-level Best Volunteer Award is an incredible honour. It is a testament to the power of collective effort in volunteerism. Thanks to the Honourable President of India, ICFAI University and all who supported me. This is just the beginning of my commitment to serving the community.”

The award ceremony was organized on 29 September 2023 at Dar-bar Hall of the Rastrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. The prestigious National Award carries a cash prize of Rupees One Lakh along with a Certificate and a Memento.

Debnath has planted a remarkable 1030 saplings, attended over 125 blood donation camps, and personally donated 2 units of blood. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, she went above and beyond by distributing handmade masks, essential items, sanitizers etc. She also served as an AAPDA MITRA, a Disaster Management Volunteer, actively participating in rescue operations, cleanliness drives and heritage protection initiatives.

Debnath has actively promoted various government programs such as Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bima Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. She has worked on digital literacy campaigns and raised awareness on important issues like gender equality, gender sensitivity, adult literacy and a plastic-free India.
