University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) concluded its campus placements for the academic year 2016-17 placing 1,447 students and 1527 offers. More than 325 domestic and international companies offered career opportunities to UPES students this year. 56% of these recruiters were first timers at UPES. Adobe, Armstrong, Amazon, Aditya Birla Solar, Athena Legal, Arka Consulting, Azure Power, Birlasoft, Byjus Think & Learn, Cognizant, Desmania, DHL Global, GM, Grasim Industries, Glencore, JLL, Khurana & Khurana, Lead Law, Lybrate, Microsoft, MPhasis, Madura Fashions, Mahindra Finance, NIIT Technologies, Orionis IP, Pramata Knowledge Solutions, Reliance Retail, Siemens, Sterling, Wilson, Vedanta, Worley Parson, Yamaha Motors etc are some of the first time recruiters.
Of the 325 plus recruiters, the leading names include IBM, Infosys, KPIT, Nestle, Philip Carbon Black Limited, Shell, Sony, Tech Mahindra, Weatherford Drilling International besides many large business houses like Adanis, Birlas, Reliance, L&T, Tatas etc.
Overall, 91% of graduates who were eligible and opted for placements have been placed with the highest package of INR 29.76 lakhs.
Far east in West Bengal, the first batch of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur and ISI Kolkata, competes no less.
The recently concluded final placement for the 1st batch (2015-2017) witnessed participation from 38 companies including Fortune 500 companies like American Express, Walmart Labs, PwC, MasterCard, JPMC.
The inaugural batch was offered an average annual compensation package of Rs. 17.14 lakh and the highest was Rs.20.14 lakh per annum by the domestic recruiters. International recruiters offered average annual compensation package of Rs.18.07 lakh and the highest was Rs. 21.78.
