Dr Somanath motivated students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of knowledge

"Embrace innovation and leverage cutting-edge technology for societal benefit," urged Dr Sreedhara Panicker Somanath, Secretary and Chairman of ISRO, to the students. "Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders in shaping India’s technological and social landscape. I urge you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of knowledge and use it to drive inclusive growth," he said while delivering his address as Guest of Honour at Centurion University's twelfth convocation at its Bhubaneswar campus.

The ceremony celebrated academic excellence and achievements across disciplines, as 2,738 students from the 2024 batch and 138 students from previous batches received their degrees, including 47 doctoral graduates.

Presiding over the event was Raghubar Das, Governor of Odisha and Visitor to the University. The convocation was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Justice Sandeep Mehta, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Guest of Honour Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Vice Chancellor Dr Supriya Pattanayak commended the graduates for their hard work and perseverance. The ceremony highlighted the achievements of the 1699 students who attended in person, including 19 gold medal recipients and 49 merit awardees. Special recognition was given to those excelling in academic, research and co-curricular pursuits.

The University’s Board of Governors, Academic Council, esteemed faculty and a diverse audience of dignitaries, reporters and guests witnessed the celebration.
