Work life must be enjoyable and engaging for all employees of any organisation. Hence, this discussion revolved around that completely.

Dr Ramam Ramachandran, Director, KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, pointed out, “I think creating a great work culture is important for overall success of any organisation. Those who have great skills, love to work long hours and not complain.”

On the other hand, Pratik Modi, Dean, School of Management, BML Munjal, commented, “When was it that the society was happy with the level of communication with the younger generation. I know for sure that my professors had problems with my generation.”

On an even lighter note Professor Dr Mayank Dhaundiyal, Dean, Jindal Global Business School, OP Jindal Global University, said that when we talk of toxic workplaces, we need to understand what a toxic workplace means. "In my opinion, I think a lot of the challenges that go on, on social media about such workplaces is that some people might not like their workplace for different reasons.”

Moving on, Prof Venkataramanan, Pro Vice Chancellor, FLAME University, stated that, “Most of the corporates forget that there are some people are very passionate about their work compared to others who are not that passionate and this gets amplified and labelled as a toxic work culture.”

This session took place as part of Future of Management Education Conclave 2024 by the BW Education vertical of BW Businessworld.
