The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced special board examinations in 2025 for students engaged in national or international sports events and recognised Olympiads. This initiative, active since 2018, ensures that students pursuing extracurricular excellence do not face academic setbacks.
Eligibility
Students whose board exam dates overlap with national/international sports events or travel schedules can apply. Events recognised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) or International Olympiads acknowledged by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) qualify.
Application Process
Submit a formal application through the respective school.
Attach certificates from recognised authorities like SAI, BCCI or HBCSE.
Schools must forward applications to CBSE by December 31, 2024.
Approval and Exam Schedule
CBSE regional offices will notify schools of approvals by January 15, 2025.
Special exams will be conducted within 15 days of the original exam dates.
This measure ensures that students excelling in extracurricular fields can balance academics without compromise.
