ICFAI Business School conducts Academicians & Practitioners Summit On Banking And Finance

The inaugural session of the two-day Academicians & Practitioners Summit on Banking and Finance (APSBF) 2024, organised by the Centre of Excellence for Banking and Finance(CoEBF) at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad, was conducted on December 15, 2024, at ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Deemed University Campus, Hyderabad.

Delivering an enlightening Inaugural Address Padma Vibhushan, C. Rangarajan, former Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India and the current Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, emphasised  the need to align credit growth with the economy's potential while maintaining financial stability. 

Keynote speaker Susheela Chintala, Chief General Manager of NABARD, in her speech underlined the transformative impact of AI and fintech on financial inclusion, while cautioning against challenges in balancing profitability with equity.

The summit featured discussions on empowering marginalised communities through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the critical role of women-led initiatives and the importance of balanced credit disbursement to mitigate over-indebtedness. Other key themes included risk management, sustainable growth and the dynamic impact of technological advancements on banking.

D. Satish, Dean Academic at ICFAI Business School , Hyderabad highlighted the summit's role in bridging the gap between theory and practice. The event provided a collaborative platform for knowledge exchange, paving the way for innovative solutions in the banking and finance sectors.The Summit  brought together 200 delegates from academia and industry to address critical issues in financial inclusion, sustainable credit growth and innovations transforming the banking sector.
