BITS Pilani & DIAT Pune Partner To Drive Innovation In National Security And Emerging Technologies

BITS Pilani, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to partner with the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, a premier institute under, Department of Defence Research and Development (DRDO). The focus of the partnership is to do joint research, develop cutting-edge technology, upskill professionals and nurture entrepreneurship in critical technology domains. This is facilitated mainly through the Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) established at BITS Pilani.

As part of the agreement, both institutions will engage in knowledge exchange activities, like workshops, seminars and conferences in the field of National Security. Joint research work will be at the cornerstone of this collaboration. They will jointly conduct research projects: short-term consultancy assignments for addressing specific issues in the industry and long-term initiatives for exploring emerging and future areas. These collaborations will encompass the joint usage of faculty, research scholars, and lab infrastructures.

To meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in emerging technologies, BITS Pilani and DIAT will design and deliver certification courses in a hybrid format. These programmes will cater to working professionals in Indian Public sector undertakings (PSUs), industries, and organisations, particularly those in the national security sector.
