We Worked On Fundamentals To Provide Quality Education: Dr J Mahender Reddy, VC, ICFAI Foundation For Higher Education, Hyderabad

In a standalone address at BW Education presents Future Of Management Education Conclave, Dr J Mahender Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Hyderabad shared his views on The Challenge of Management Education: The case of ICFAIBusiness School, Hyderabad. 

Talked about the Genesis of the business school, he said, "It's started in 1995 and became a Deemed to be University in the year 2008 and we got accreditation from AACSB, SAQS, NAAC, and NIRF."

"We also looked into how the students are learning and that is shown through a series like how much the student has understood conceptual knowledge, communication skills, critical thinking, and leadership skills. We ensured that the students learn these concepts effortlessly," he further added.

"We gave great emphasis to our faculty. This is the most important thing ever since I joined the university. I was focusing on hiring and development. Hiring itself is a big job because if you have to get good quality teachers you can’t advertise. So we chose one method, we have got an experienced staff Colleague who helps train the faculty and Soft skills and the real knowledge in the continuous process throughout the year," affirmed Dr Reddy. 

Commenting on the on-going research work, Dr Reddy asserted, "For the doctoral program, students go through the rigorous coursework and the end of the course work students qualifying examination thereafter student needs to face a committee of research methodology experts and subjective so each test can make a strong foundation for students."  

"Additionally, we signed MoU with American University in which our students spend a year abroad and get that exposure to teaching and research in an international context and when they come back they're better-qualified leads and American University professors told us that your students are as good as ours. In Corona times, we have seen technology as an enabler and expose our students to emerging technologies. Also, we are providing training in Artificial Intelligence, BlockChain, Big Data and IoT, etc," he added.
