Unless We Improve The Lot Of The Teacher, No System Can Improve: Gurdial Saroop Saini, Education Officer (Retd), KVS

Teachers play a very significant role in a student’s life. As a teacher, one must bring out the best in students and inspire them to strive for eminence. Students are considered as the future of the nation-state & mankind and a teacher is believed to be a credible guide for their progress.

To have a discussion on these lines, BW Education in association with BW Businessworld, hosted another episode of its Wednesday Wisdom Webinar Series on ‘A Student’s journey: Role of A Teacher’ with Gurdial Saroop Saini, Education Officer (Retd), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS).

Talking about the importance of teachers’ role in a student’s life, Mr Gurdial said, “The pain that teachers take to develop their students, nurture them through their personal role and through their love and affection, gives great results.”

“Unless we improve the lot of the teacher, no system can improve, no system can survive. Most of the teachers in most of the state schools are not willing to improve and change. It gives me happiness that we have wonderful teachers in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. We have good management and good leadership at higher level,” he further stated.

Suggesting the ways for qualitative improvement of the schools, Mr Gurdial stated, “If state governments observe the working of Kendriya Vidyalayas and adopt their method of teaching, their working, their syllabus and implement it in all state schools then the situation can improve drastically.”
