Thapar Institute Of Engineering & Technology Celebrates 37th Convocation

Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET) marked its 37th convocation with Smt. Meeta Rajivlochan, IAS, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, serving as the Guest of Honour. The convocation honoured distinguished alumni and conferred degrees upon 3,039 students.


During the ceremony, Snehil Mittal received the Presidents’ Medal for achieving the highest position among final-year BE/BTech candidates. Jappreet Kaur was recognized as the All Round Best Student and received the S Ranbir Singh Gold Medal.


Puneet Singh received the S Ram S Sidhu Memorial Medal, while Snehil Mittal also earned the Prof V Rajaraman Computer Science/Engineering Award. Additionally, meritorious students from various programs received medals for securing the first position in their respective branches.


The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Rajeev Ranjan Vederah, commended TIET's research-driven and experiential curriculum. Dr Padmakumar Nair, Director, TIET, highlighted the institute's strong global and national rankings, as well as its commitment to innovation and research.


As of 2023, TIET maintains its position as the 20th top engineering institution in India and it's ranked 22nd among all universities in the country, according to the NIRF Rankings.
