Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister, Delhi, said that the primary schools in the national capital will remain closed starting from Saturday, November 5, considering the increasing pollution levels. He further said that schools will be reopened only after the air quality improves in the city.
This statement comes after the Delhi BJP demanded that schools should be closed in Delhi in view of the severe air pollution.
Speaking about anti-pollution steps, CM Kejriwal stated, “We are closing outdoor sports activities for students above Class 5 students.” “There is the contemplation of bringing back the odd-even scheme as well,” he added.
Underlining the issue of stubble burning, Kejriwal stated, “Punjab Government is responsible for stubble burning. It will be significantly reduced in the state by next year.”
