The book explores the inspiring stories of nano entrepreneurs who successfully scaled their businesses with Swakalpa programme support. It showcases their resilience and determination, highlighting the impact of micro-economies on a macro scale, through vivid narratives and striking visuals.

Swakalpa is a self-employment training and entrepreneurship programme in Odisha, aimed at equipping 10,000 youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to establish at least 1,000 micro-businesses. Implemented by the Odisha Skill Development Authority, World Skill Center, Asian Development Bank and Palladium India, the programme offers 100 hours of entrepreneurship training, including personalised mentoring for shortlisted candidates and aims to empower women and disadvantaged groups to become successful entrepreneurs.

A majority of the narratives featured in the Coffee Table Book showcased the diversity, resilience and entrepreneurial acumen of women who are not only contributing to economic growth but are also becoming catalysts for social change in their communities.

“This unique programme is dedicated to empowering nano enterprises across untapped geographies and niche sectors through self-employment training and personalised mentorship”, Alka Misra, Chairperson, Odisha Skill Development Authority, said.
