LSE Pro-Director Delivers Keynote Address On IXth ISBF Graduation Day

Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), a Featured Teaching Institution of The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and also enjoying University of London’s Affiliate Centre status, celebrated its ninth graduation ceremony. Prof. Paul Kelly, Pro-Director with responsibility for International Partnerships and East Asia and Professor of Political Theory at LSE, has delivered the keynote address at the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) auditorium, New Delhi on September 1, 2018. A total of 21 students achieved either a First Class or a Distinction.
 
Following her sister’s footsteps, Rhiya Bansal becomes one of the only two students to have been awarded the prestigious EMFSS scholarship to study MSc Economics at LSE this year. The event was attended by 100+ students of the class of 2018, along with their parents and guardians.

Prof. Paul Kelly has extensive experience of working with students internationally as well as in India and has authored proclaimed books like British Political Theory in the Twentieth Century & Political Thinkers: From Socrates to The Present. He has earlier interacted with ISBF students and faculty members, including at last year’s Graduation Ceremony. He is currently the editor of the Journal Utilitas and has nearly three decades of research and academic experience, with publications in several reputed and peer-reviewed journals to his name. Prof. Kelly, Dr. Chadha, Founder & Director, ISBF, and Dr.Tayal, Dean Academics, ISBF, presented the graduating students with their respective degrees and awards.

While acknowledging the LSE and ISBF’s partnership, Prof. Paul Kelly during his keynote address to students said, “The University of London and LSE have now been partners with ISBF for 12 years and we continue to value that mutually beneficial relationship. We hope it will grow and develop further, and trust that your successes will contribute to that by showing further students as well as employers and graduate schools the benefits of that relationship and of studying for the University of London programmes at ISBF.” Appreciating ISBF’s contribution to LSE’s learning programme, Prof.  Kelly further added "It is worth noting that the University of London is not a distance learning programme but works through recognised colleges such as ISBF that offer students learning support that is unavailable elsewhere. We (LSE) bring a research and teaching expertise honed over a period of 119 years to the programmes taught here at ISBF” 

Congratulating the graduating students, Dr.G. L Tayal said, “This is indeed a big day for you. You have completed all the requirements to earn a well -deserved the degree from the University of London. You have studied a rigorous and interdisciplinary curriculum, accepted the cognitive challenges to learn differently and acquire a world-class education”.

The event was also attended by esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders of ISBF including the Director, Associate Director, Dean Academics, Faculty Members and Staff.
