Jamia Millia Islamia And Tech Mahindra Foundation Start SMART Academy For Digital Technologies In Delhi

The SMART Academy will offer a wide range of courses in cutting-edge fields like Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, AWS re/Start, Java Full Stack Development, PHP Full Stack Development, and UI/UX Development

The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) in collaboration with Tech Mahindra Foundation and AT&T Global Network Services India (AGNSI), inaugurated the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Digital Technologies in Delhi today. This initiative aims to provide vocational training to equip India’s youth with in-demand digital skills and foster employability.

 

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Arun Karna, MD & CEO of AT&T Global Network Services India, as the Chief Guest, with  M. Nasim Haider, Registrar of JMI, serving as the Guest of Honor. The event was presided over by Prof. M. Shakeel, Vice-Chancellor of JMI. Notable attendees included Prof. Rihan Khan Suri, Director of CIE, JMI, Prof. Mini S. Thomas, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, JMI, along with Mr. Chetan Kapoor, CEO of Tech Mahindra Foundation, and Mr. Sajid Ali, COO of Tech Mahindra Foundation.

 

Prof. M. Shakeel, Vice-Chancellor, JMI emphasised the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among India’s youth: "In today’s competitive world, equipping the youth with new-age skills is critical to enhancing employability and fostering innovation. The SMART Academy for Digital Technologies provides accessible, high-quality training designed to bridge skill gaps and create opportunities for underserved communities. JMI is proud to contribute to the nation’s economic growth through such initiatives.

 

The SMART Academy will offer a wide range of courses in cutting-edge fields like Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, AWS re/Start, Java Full Stack Development, PHP Full Stack Development, and UI/UX Development. In addition, students will receive foundational training in English, IT, soft skills, and personality development to enhance their job readiness.

 

Arun Karna, MD & CEO of AT&T Global Network Services India, remarked on the collaborative effort to empower youth with future-ready skills: "India’s young talent pool has the potential to drive global transformation.
