International Teachers' Olympiad 2022 was recently launched to give teachers the respect, recognition and rewards they deserve.
The NEP 2020 recognises the need to ensure that teachers are sufficiently prepared and equipped to meet the learning demands of 21st century learners and calls for much-needed reforms in teacher education. The policy has implemented institutional changes to assist 'teaching' emerge as a desirable career for young minds. In fact, it empowers teachers by focussing on ‘restoring the high esteem and standing’ of the profession, with the hope that it will eventually entice the brightest brains and talent to choose teaching as a career.
Sharing the numbers, Suraasa - the organiser of the olympiad, said that the Olympiad has already received registrations from over 40,000 teachers from over 1800 schools. These teachers come from both government and private schools from over 30 countries.
The registration for the olympiad is still on and the team expects registrations of over 1,00,000 teachers this year.
