With the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO, Dehradun, get together to elevate innovations in space and to strengthen academic collaboration, enhance research and advance education in the field of space science and technology.
“To broaden the scope of space research and technology in India, this Memorandum of Understanding is an essential first step. It emphasises our dedication to leading-edge research and teaching in this area, which is essential to the country's space exploration and technological growth. We anticipate collaborative Ph.D. programmes, collaborative research projects, student exchange programmes and auxiliary academic activities through this partnership, all of which will surely improve our researchers and students' skills”, K. K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, said.
This partnership is aiming to advance India's standing in space-related activities on the international scene and to enhance the country's space science and technology sector and educational experience of students in this subject by Ph.D. programmes, research initiatives, student exchange programmes and funding for academic programmes.
‘Centre for Space Science & Technology’, a center of innovation and multidisciplinary cooperation will support national space goals and missions, promote focused research and development and will train highly qualified.
