IIM Kashipur To Host Reasearch Colloquium

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur is organising the second edition of its research colloquium called ‘Management Education & Research Colloquium (MERC)’ from 19th to 21st May 2023. The event will see the participation of over 100 researchers from across the country.

The inaugural ceremony of the three-day long event will be held at IIM Kashipur campus on Friday 19th May 2023. Academician and Professor at the Ahmedabad University, Prof Ramadhar Singh, will be the Chief Guest of the inauguration session. The opening ceremony would be attended by over 150 people including research scholars, expert panelists and all faculty and staff members of the institute.

IIM Kashipur’s research colloquium is a national-level collaborative platform for researchers and academicians. It provides an opportunity for doctoral students to interact, collaborate and network with like-minded researchers and practitioners from varied domains. Moreover, participants gain valuable feedback, engage in discussions and receive mentorship from experts about their research.  

The event is being conducted in hybrid mode, allowing participants to attend either in-person or virtually. Several activities viz. keynote addresses, paper presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and cultural programs (Theatre) are lined up for the coming three days. Over 100 researchers have registered for the event with a total of 91 Papers Presentations (59 Offline 59; 32 Online) lined up. ‘Best Paper Awards’ will be given to selected researchers.

In addition to paper presentations, ‘MERC 2023’ will also feature workshops on research methodologies to help participants improve their methodological rigor. Panel discussions on current business and environmental issues are also scheduled; this will encourage the exchange of ideas among budding researchers and academicians. The event shall also offer an enjoyable and refreshing experience to participants wherein they will have the chance to go on a nature excursion to Nainital and spend quality time in the serenity of the hills.  

As per the institution, the major objectives of MERC are to facilitate the exchange of ideas between doctoral students and academicians in the respective areas to enable them to improve their research papers for publication and provide an opportunity to scholars for network building and collaboration.
