Diageo India recently celebrated the graduation of the Third batch of students from Assam, trained in hospitality through its ‘Learning for Life’ programme, in collaboration with Orion Educational Society (OES). The convocation ceremony was graced by the presence of Rupak Sarma, MLA (Nagaon Sadar); Simanta Bora, Vice Chairman, Nagaon Municipal Board; Sarat Borkotoki, Former Principal, Nowgong College Autonomous; Tarun Yadav, Cluster Head, Assam and; Surajit Dutta, Public Policy Lead, North east from Diageo.
The programme comprises over 300 hours of skills-based training provided by academia and industry professionals for employment in hospitality, tourism and allied industries. The comprehensive curriculum offers students training in Front Office Administration and Food and Beverage services along with interpersonal skills and digital literacy. In addition to this, Industry/Government approved certification provided through this programme ensures graduates are job-ready and equipped with expertise that is highly valued in the hospitality sector. Post completion of the program, students are employed at respectable organisations.
Till date, over 5,200 youth have been trained for the business and hospitality sector under Diageo India’s Learning for Life programme.
