Hyderabad Public School Celebrates Its Grand Century, Alumni Backs Whole Event

The Hyderabad Public School (HPS) began its grand celebration of the completion of 100 years of foundation with the inauguration of the HPS Museum by President, Droupadi Murmu on 19 December. The three-day event includes several activities that commenced from 25-27 December 2023. The three-day event showcased the history of the institution through the HPS Museum, organised Start X an entrepreneurial summit to push the entrepreneurial instinct among the students and also assembled cultural talent in the form of carnival. 

The Hyderabad Public School is known for their prestigious set of alumni who are leading various organisations and bodies around the world; Satya Nadella (CEO, Microsoft), Ajay Pal Banga (President, World Bank), Harsha Bhogle (Former Indian Cricketer & Journalist).

The distinctive thing about the event is that it was all organised, arranged and managed by the alumni group in the spirit of giving back to their institution. The day-long event included various activities such as golf, vintage cars, a museum tour, a photography competition, an Alumni sports reunion, speed networking, and workshops.

Entrepreneurial Summit

The HPS StartX Summit unfolded as a daylong event, featuring a Startup symposium spotlighting young alumni-run startups, engaging masterclasses, and seminars. It marked the initiation of a global Alumni founders' community for ongoing mentorship programs, internship opportunities, and support for entrepreneurial aspirations through seed and pre-series funding. This summit served as a platform for ambitious Eagles venturing into the entrepreneurial realm. The StartX Showcase highlighted over 30 promising alumni-founded startups, drawing attention from thought leaders. 

HPS Museum

HPS Museum is a classic example of how history can be represented in a well-detailed manner; the historical exhibition projected old school uniforms, buses, boarding rooms, etc. The exhibition was enhanced by a Wall of Honour, serving as a testament to HPS's enduring legacy of excellence. The exhibition efficiently used technology to project the nuances of the information related to the institution. 

HPS Standing Out

Hyderabad Public School has a notable set of alumni from all across the world who are leaders in their respective fields. These alumni have supported the organisation of the centenary celebration with utmost vibrancy. The school expanding its swing in academic excellence, sports competence and cultural fostering. According to Skand Bali, Principal, of Hyderabad Public School, HPS has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to the welfare of the students and faculty the school has been providing scholarships to people from humble backgrounds, scheduled caste and scheduled tribes before Right To Education arrived. 

He also emphasised the institution’s approach to maintaining a balance between academic excellence and the development of sports infrastructure that NEP also focuses on as holistic education. These characteristics and features of the HPS make it distinct from other educational institutions. 

Bali considers technological intervention to enhance the learning experience for the students and also enable them to increase their potential. 

2050 Goal OF HPS

The big institutions never rest, HPS has already completed 100 years of foundation and has plans and policies in place to excel in the next 25 years, according to Gusti J. Noria, President, of Hyderabad Public School. He mentioned that HPS right from childhood implants the seeds of leadership.

Noria also shared the vision of the HPS to contribute to the making of society & country and its mission to become one of the top ten schools in the world by 2050. He highlighted gender sensitivity, inclusivity and critical thinking form the core values of the Hyderabad Public School.
