Campus Vs Cloud: Experiential Learning Will Take Centre Stage

Technology is a significant enabler in the process of learning but it certainly, cannot be a replacement for campus classrooms. Sandeep Hooda, Co-founder, Vega Schools shares, “If technology wasn’t there, we could have witnessed a massive academic gap across the world and in India as well. The best and positive by-product of online teaching gone to living rooms where parents were able to see the learning taking place first hand.” 

“In the last 2-3 years, people were able to spot the inadequacies and potential opportunities of the Indian education system. Technology, all in all, has accelerated the education segment otherwise it would have taken 5-7 years more,” Saurabh Arora, Founder and CEO, University Living, shares. 

In today’s times, technological integration in education approaches is a requisite to provide experiential learning. Atharv Mehendale, Assistant Director – Online Learning, OP Jindal Global University said, “Moving physical classes to online degree programs has been necessitated by the pandemic. We became the first Indian university to offer a master’s degree program on Coursera in September 2021.” 

The stakeholder across the education fraternity are laying emphasis on the skill-first nature of learning hence the universities and schools are developing spaces wherein learners can practically do things they’re studying. Hybrid would be the new norm going ahead, the leaders are open to experiment and finalise what’s working well and what’s not.
