BITS School of Management (BITSoM) revealed the winners of the Design Thinking Challenge - Mumbai 2023 at its Management Ideas Festival.
‘A group named ‘Fineapple’ won first place and received Rs 2.5 lakh. The members of the team were Aishwarya Chodankar, Paridhi Subbaian Kaliamoorthy, Daksshin Gopalakrishna and Pranjali Bhagwat. They proposed to develop a modular planter system called ‘Plant Lego’ as a means of addressing urban agriculture in Mumbai and facilitating recreational activities.
NMIMS's BSSA, Mumbai, won the runners-up and received Rs 1.5 lakh. Members of the team were Gaurav Shah, Rajvardhan Jain and Nandika Shah.
‘WeSchool's Dream Team’ and ‘OG Design Thinkers’ were the other two finalists.
In the initial round, 10 teams got selected by the jury to participate in a full-day Masterclass on Design Thinking, led by Dr Ranjan Banerjee, Founding Dean. In the other rounds, CEOs and CXOs were the audience for the finalist team’s presentation skills workshop. The subject of the Management Ideas Festival's second edition was ‘Building High Performing Teams’.
Speakers at the event were Rajat Gupta, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Guneet Monga Kapoor, Gary Kirsten and Shantanu Moitra.
“Future leaders need to be conscious of and involved in the environments in which they work. Accordingly, our Design Thinking Challenge gave Mumbai's youth a chance to use the design process to develop concepts that would have a beneficial influence on Mumbai now and in the future”, Dr Leena Chatterjee, Professor, BITSoM, said.
