Amity Uni Celebrates World Tourism Day

Amity University celebrated World Tourism Day in collaboration with the Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) at its Noida campus. The event included a seminar on 'Smart Tourism and Green Investment' along with several competitions including a Salad-making Competition, Debate Competition, Quiz Competition and Photography Competition with prizes and awards for respective winners.

Guest of Honour, H Dillum, Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Mauritius in India, Embassy of Mauritius, said, “Tourism is much needed for economic development. Whereas, for the future of the tourism industry, infrastructure development and technological advancement are necessary. When it comes to green investments in the tourism industry, the role of SMEs and startups is integral.”

Vinod Zutshi, IAS Retd Former Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India, emphasised on renewable energy community development and responsible tourism. “Each one of us must minimize carbon footprint and adopt eco-friendly practices,” Sajnani, Dean, Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism and Director, Amity Institute of Travel & Tourism, said.
