Indian School Of Business And Finance Holds Orientation Ceremony

Indian School of Business & Finance (ISBF), a Featured Teaching Institution of LSE, also enjoying the University of London’s Affiliate Centre status, celebrated its thirteenth orientation ceremony. RBI Chair Professor, Indian Council of Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), Dr. Jaimini Bhagwati, delivered the keynote address on the occasion at India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi on August 3, 2018. Besides the 100+ students of the class of 2018, their parents and guardians, the day-long event was also attended by esteemed dignitaries and stakeholders of ISBF including the Chairperson, Director, Dean Academics, Dean Outreach & Corporate Relations, Administrative Head, Faculty Members and Staff.

Dr. Jaimini Bhagwati, IFS officer of the 1976 batch, who has served as the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom, in his keynote address said, “It is always refreshing to be with young people. The world has been changing with great speed today than it did during my time. It is important to know the past, in order to act in the present and plan the future.” Putting stress on what the students need to follow, he said “Following simple guidelines during our student life in particular, and our life in general, we should always respect our parents and teachers; these are important aspects of a student’s life”.

The purpose of the Orientation was to introduce and welcome new students and their families to the ISBF Community. The event was also a means to familiarise the enrolled students with the resources and facilities at ISBF, rules and regulations, and the calendar of academic events. 

Dr. Jitin Chadha, Founder & Director, ISBF, while addressing students during the ceremony said, “You’re the chosen few who have been admitted to an educational institute which has been the choice of at least 15 Nobel Laureates. ISBF provides you the opportunity to gain access to globally relevant courses while studying in India”. Addressing the aspect of students gaining the advantage of UoL and LSE, he stated “Association of education centers and faculty, who have a global footprint already puts you in the league of achievers. Thank you for entrusting us with this important phase of your life.”

Capturing the real essence and purpose of the programmes at ISBF, Dr. G.L. Tayal, Dean Academics, ISBF, said, "ISBF promotes academic freedom and intellectual inquiry while treating the students as mature individuals who are ready and believe in meaningful learning".
