Young Minds Share Innovative Solutions At Empower Startup Contest 

In line with the Pre IIGF event, The Empower Startup Contest was held for children and young adults. It was centred around the theme ‘Don’t prepare for the world. Design it.” The concept of the competition involved visualizing what the world would be like in eight to ten years, along with its problems and what opportunities would be present to solve these problems. 

Winners were announced under four categories:-

• First prize - Adhi Daiv for ‘Greening deserts with only 1 litre of water’
• Second prize - Ishaan Kaila and Ms Gurpreet Kaur for ‘Bringing clean humour to everyone’
• Third prize - Yash Manuja under ‘Safely connect and find reusable supplies’
• Special prize - Ishaan Kaila for ‘The best idea in Gov Tech’

An initiative of India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF), the competition was mentored by Atal Incubation Centre, Shiv Nadar University, and IIM Calcutta Innovation Park. It was moderated by Nidhi Arora, Founder and Catalyst, The Children’s Post of India in the presence of Ajay Data, Co-Chair, ICT, and Mobile Manufacturing Committee & CEO and founder Data Xgen Technologies Pvt Ltd and Sarika Gulyani, Director, FICCI.
