Q. What is the driving force behind your motto of “Think big, do big, achieve big”?


The driving force behind our Motto is SRM itself. SRM started small, with thinking big; the aim of providing students with great quality education alongside international standards is an achievement that SRM has bagged through many years of experience. The management train staff with a contemporary approach, which in turn affects the outcome of students and their achievements goes hand in hand with that of the University.


Q. How do you plan to develop SRM into an interdisciplinary institute of excellence?


SRM group of Colleges gives a wide variety of more than 300 courses to students. The syllabus formed here strongly support multidisciplinary learning. One of our aims is to see our teaching on par with foreign universities which has become possible over time. Global education standards being considered important, more than 26 schools under various disciplines were built.


Q. What is the role of the International Advisory Board at the University?


We have a Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) with eminent people drawn from leading organizations in the country to advise on curriculum development. Many programs like Industry Interaction, Faculty Improvement Programs, Joint Industry-Academia Collaboration are organised. Students get exposure to the industry as many industry experts are invited for guest lectures. Various foreign Universities like MIT, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkley, Illinois Institute and more provide our students with a semester abroad program. Thus the advisory board holds responsibility in maintaining the relationship of students with that of the industry.


Q. How is the University providing overseas opportunities for undergraduates and staff?


SRM attracts students from 60 countries with more than 120 MoUs signed providing them with a great learning experience. International learning as basic standards at SRM; semester abroad program is given more weight to support overseas opportunities. Various international Universities like NEC Japan, La Trobe University, Melbourne etc, were welcome to set up labs offering students internships. The faculty is trained by experts from all over the world, the constant self-up gradation & support to do research have created a lot of improvement in the quality of outcome that SRM delivers.


Q. What do you think the future holds for SRM University? Are any new endeavors in the pipeline?


Future for SRM University lies with the aim of thriving for betterment in quality of education than that exists. There are lots of improvements included in the curriculum and standardly SRM Group of Colleges has included many new courses depending upon the demand of the students and the industry.
