Scaler School of Technology, a four-year residential undergraduate computer science programme, has announced that it will bestow 100 per cent scholarships (worth Rs 15 crores) to the top 100 rated high school students at the annual Indian National Mathematics Olympiad along with those part of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) in the last five years allowing them to pursue Scaler’s Undergraduate Programme in Software Development.
Earlier this week, the Indian team achieved its best-ever performance at the International Maths Olympiad (IMO) 2024, coming in fourth globally. The team secured four Gold medals, one silver medal and one honourable mention. Students across the country participate in several rounds - area, regional and national competitions - before they qualify for the domestic training camp and eventually participate in the prestigious global event. Despite the prestige that accompanies this and other international olympiads, hardly a few thousand students aspire to be part of the initiative because a vast majority of students (and their families) want to focus on preparing for competitive entrance exams and other qualifiers for undergraduate degrees.
Scaler wants to encourage students to pursue excellence in the field of STEM and will offer them a 100 per cent scholarship to the top 100 students who participate in the Indian National Mathematics and Informatics Olympiad and are interested in pursuing software engineering and computer science. Scaler School of Technology follows a detailed admissions process that includes written tests and interviews, the new-age education institute will waive the entire process for these students allowing them access to top-quality learning experiences at SST.
Located in the heart of India's Silicon Valley, Bengaluru, Scaler School of Technology is a fully residential and full-time bachelor's programme that offers specialisations in new-age, in-demand technologies like Data Science, Machine Learning, Algorithmic Trading and competitive programming. Learners will also participate in a one-year paid industry internship with leading tech companies and get access to one-on-one guidance from industry leaders in the form of mentorship. Scaler works with thousands of industry partners, including the top names in every tech sector like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Zomato, Airtel, Wells Fargo, PayPal and others, for recruitment and other needs. SST learners can engage with these organisations for industry projects through the on-campus innovation lab, encouraging practical learning.
Students at Scaler’s Undergraduate Programme in Software Development will be eligible to enrol in a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science recognised by the UGC through a reputed institute. This degree will also enable students to apply for government jobs or Indian and overseas higher studies if they wish to. Additionally, they will also receive a Master of Science in Computer Science from Woolf University, which is licensed as a higher education institution in the European Union that works on ECTS - European Credit Transfer System. The master's degree awarded by Woolf is globally recognised, with recognition from ECS and CES.
