Rashtram School Of Public Leadership Launches Inaugural Edition Of The International Journal Of Studies In Public Leadership

The Rashtram School of Public Leadership, today launched its inaugural edition of a new peer-reviewed journal focusing on leadership research and study called the International Journal of Studies in Public Leadership (IJSPL). During the recently concluded 6th Founding Day, a string of initiatives planned for the academic year 2021-22 was also highlighted.

IJSPL will add value to leaders and followers across all domains as well as instructors and researchers in the field of leadership studies. The Rashtram School of Public Leadership, has also recently collaborated with the reputed Matsushita Institute of Government and Management (MIGM) in Japan, Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL), amongst others.

Chief Guest, Sonam Wangchuk, Director, Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh (HIAL) delivered the keynote address. Mr Wangchuk, a well-known and highly respected engineer, innovator and education reformist, stressed upon the need to adopt new education and leadership models. He advocated a transition from the traditional 3R’s education model (Reading, wRiting, and aRithmentic) to the 3H’s model (Bright Head, Kind Heart, and Skilled Hands), rooted in experiential learning, collaborative teaching, research and innovation, to develop competent leaders of tomorrow.

Speaking on the occasion, Shobhit Mathur, Co-Founder & Dean, Rashtram said, “India in the coming years will play an extremely critical role in dictating global policies. It is for this very reason that it becomes extremely critical for all of us to break free from the shackles of our colonial past, to develop future leaders who are self-aware and civilisationally assured, nourished by Indic Knowledge traditions and systems of thought.”

Their flagship program, Rashtram Accelerator, a one-year residential PG Diploma in Public Leadership rooted in the ethos of Bharat, is focused on nurturing public leaders in 3 domains: Academia, Politics and Civil Society.  The programme design envisages an immersive experience with guided learning on campus, reflections, field visits, social immersions, mentor conversations, and project work. It is a residential programme housed in the state of the art 25-acre Rishihood University Campus, in Sonipat, Delhi NCR.

It offers a unique curriculum which helps young leaders hone their meta-skills - mental models, learning how to learn, developing a spirit of enquiry, cognitive endurance, focusing on both research and on-ground fieldwork. The curriculum is based on Indic Knowledge Systems. Indic Knowledge Systems provide us with frameworks that will help future public leaders learn for life. The Accelerator that aims to equip leaders with skills and character for nation-building launches this upcoming academic year 2021-22, applications for which are open from 1st December 2020 onwards.

Sahil Aggarwal, Co-Founder, Rashtram added, “It’s truly remarkable to witness the transformation of Rashtram over the years, from a small group of like-minded individuals to a fully functioning institution. The journey is part of a larger vision to foster a social impact ecosystem driven by young and dynamic leaders in India and abroad.”
