Oracle Partners With Tamil Nadu To Train 2 Lakh Students In Cutting-Edge Technologies

Oracle joins Tamil Nadu to train 2,00,000 students in cloud, AI, data science and emerging tech, boosting employment prospects through a state initiative

Oracle and Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) have launched a specialised skills development programme under the state’s massive skill enhancement initiative, Naan Mudhalvan, to provide employment-linked skills development training to more than 2,00,000 students in the state. TNSDC is collaborating with Oracle to offer Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) training to help students in the state advance their careers.

As part of the new skilling initiative, in 2024, more than 2,00,000 youth at different stages of their learning and professional goals will be trained and certified on modern technologies from Oracle, including cloud, data science, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and blockchain. Since its introduction, more than 60,000 students representing engineering, arts and science streams from over 900 colleges across the state have registered to participate in the programme.

Teachers and academicians will deliver the training as part of the curriculum on campus. Specific modules will be offered as a digital learning experience through Oracle MyLearn, Oracle’s comprehensive training and enablement platform from Oracle University, used by thousands of trainees around the world. It will offer rigorous foundational training in cloud technologies, leading to professional-level training, certifications, and additional training that will be individually curated based on learning levels and educational goals. The programme will provide students and professionals with a foundation in cloud computing and a better understanding of other core concepts such as AI, ML, data science or blockchain.

Oracle University provides access to some of the world’s leading technology experts and practitioners to support cloud technology training and certification worldwide. More than 20 million hours of Oracle University learning content have been viewed by learners globally and the program has trained more than 3.1 million Oracle certified professionals in the global workforce.
