National Testing Agency (NTA) today announced the revised NEET UG 2024 results on the official website. The result and the toppers’ list are being revised after the Supreme Court ordered on Tuesday that the compensatory marks given to a selected group of students for a physics question be taken back.
Earlier, the NTA agreed to compensate a few students with additional marks because the incorrect answer they marked was based on an erroneous reference in their old Class 12 NCERT science textbook. However, on Tuesday the Supreme Court decided that there would be just one accurate answer and anyone responding with anything other than that would not receive marks for it.
Due to this,44 candidates whose score had jumped to 720/720, leading them to All India Rank (AIR) 1, will now face minus five marks and lose their topper label.
