Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan confirmed that the NEET UG 2024 final results will be revealed within two days, following the Supreme Court's decision to reject petitions for the exam's cancellation and re-test.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Pradhan shared that the Supreme Court had dismissed the appeals challenging the NEET UG 2024's integrity, despite concerns over alleged question paper leaks, fraud, and impersonation. The court found no evidence supporting claims of a "systemic breach" in the exam.
The BJP-led NDA government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) had faced significant criticism and protests over alleged exam malpractices. Pradhan also announced that the merit list would be updated in line with the Supreme Court’s observations.
In light of the IIT Delhi report, which confirmed that only one answer was correct for a disputed physics question, it is anticipated that the ranks of around 400,000 students may be adjusted.
Pradhan expressed his satisfaction with the Supreme Court's ruling, stating, "Truth has prevailed." He emphasised that the court's decision will address speculation and provide relief to the many diligent and honest students affected by the controversy.
