MHRD Offers Monetary Aid To Students With Its National Means Cum Merit Scholarship 2018-19

Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, is offering a scholarship to exemplary students of class 9, who are impoverished and are finding hurdles in continuing their secondary stage education, thus minimizing the number of dropouts in class 8.  This scholarship will help them accomplish their educational dream by eliminating the financial hurdles and encouraging them to continue their secondary stage education.

Last date to submit the application form is December 15, 2018. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, candidates need to fulfill the mandated requirements:

Eligibility

Applicant must have secured at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in class 8.

He or she must have obtained minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in class 7, in order to appear in the selection test for the scholarship award.

Annual family income must not be more than INR 1.50 Lac from all sources.

Relaxation of 5% will be given to SC and ST candidates.

Scholarship Reward

Selected students will be awarded INR 6000 per annum i.e. INR 500 per month by the Central Government, which will be eligible for continuity or renewal from class 10 to 12. One lakh such scholarships will be rewarded to students from all over India.
