The Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon, in partnership with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance and GOI, held a conference on May 4, 2024, focusing on the role and future roadmap of the Financial Services Sector in achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047, aiming to provide a platform for stakeholders to discuss their roles.
Viksit Bharat @ 2047 aims to make India a developed nation by 2047, marking the 100th year of independence. The vision includes economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance. The conference featured officials from DFS, financial sector regulators like RBI and IRDAI and industry experts from public sector banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and private banks. Key insights were shared during the plenary session.
The conference discussed various themes including responsible lending by banks/FIs towards Viksit Bharat, banking to the mass affluent and bottom of the pyramid and social security for developed India.
The conference, attended by industry experts, policymakers, regulators and academicians, aimed to provide strategic insights for a more robust financial services ecosystem, forming a key pillar of a Viksit Bharat.
