The Global Case Competition at Harvard Business School, organised by the International Finance Student Association (IFSA) Network and the Harvard GSAS Business Club, is a global student-organized competition to foster a community of graduate students interested in business careers. Since its inception in 2016, the competition has united worldwide economics and finance experts, providing opportunities for collaboration and intellectual growth.

The competition involved a three-week mergers and acquisitions case study on Equinix's potential acquisition by IBM. Participants had to analyse financial and non-financial synergies. After thorough research, students identified a misalignment in proposed synergies and presented an alternative proposition to enhance IBM's global digital infrastructure and cloud services. This innovative solution showcased their exceptional analytical abilities and set them apart.

The competition involved three rounds, with teams submitting presentations, videos and a 20-minute question-and-answer session with a distinguished jury. The jury, including Dr Amir Rezvani from Harvard Business School, Asya Potemkina from HSBC Private Bank and Danijel Lipovac from REWE Group, scrutinised participants' understanding of finance and validated proposed solutions. The competition aimed to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for all involved.
