Give a brief background of the key technology implementations at KL Deemed to be University.

A university plays a crucial role in shaping the diverse population into well-educated citizens. It can facilitate students with various technology aligned platforms to develop interests in areas, attaining enlightenment, innovate and excell. KL Deemed to be University has always followed a technically advanced level of teaching pedagogy driven by AI and uses software like LMS and ERP for the examinations, evaluations and assessments of the students. We impart an ultimate learning experience using best practices such as quick learning models and hybrid classrooms. We have built a new fine education system imbibing required technologies for quality delivery. 

How are your implementations creating an interactive and effective learning environment for students?

Learning is an interactive process in which students gain knowledge in a variety of domains and concepts. The development of university learning environments is critical to meeting higher education anticipations and empowering the use of various pedagogical methods with modern technology. Our students have access to a variety of advantages that will not only benefit their education but will also help them in upskilling and become technology pro. We encourage diverse campus community, multi-channels of learning, knowledge sharing through technology advancement, online learning, international exposure with foreign faculties, industry experts and workshops. In addition, students have access to enhanced ways of learning, collaborative online sessions and case studies, well-equipped hybrid classrooms for them to enjoy efficient learning.

What according to you, are the new emerging technologies that will make a significant difference in how institutions are imparting education in India? 

With the use of AI and other cutting-edge technologies, institutions can provide students with individualised course materials. It offers a comprehensive insight into each student's analytics-based performance. Additionally Data Science and Machine Learning mechanism has emerged as a global phenomenon that is revolutionizing industries and significantly improving their performance. It will make its way into the educational system and significantly benefit students. Furthermore, we believe it will be easy and accessible for our University to gauge and understand the students, their level of learning and their understanding of subjects, as well as keep a check on their progress and benchmark the outcomes.

How trends in edtech with a focus on skills are causing a paradigm change in higher education?

Technology is extremely significant in the functioning of our civilisation. It has completely transformed everything. It's nearly impossible to spend a day without having heard about technology. The new technologies such as Data Science, Cybersecurity, AI & ML, as well as relevant skill-based education are the future of building a strong technology infrastructure to transform the higher education sector. 

One of the primary benefits cited by online learning students is the ability to obtain instruction and training at their own pace and time. According to the evolving assessment system, edtech has made a significant difference in higher education. It definitely sharpens students' skills and experiences to a higher level.

Your thoughts on the recent UGC announcement.

The UGC's new announcement is a win-win situation for the universities and the students. However, it also depends upon the quality maintenance that the universities need to keep in mind. As 40 per cent of the courses can now be learned through a MOOC environment, the concept of self-learning has gained popularity. A standardised learning process and assessment process needs to be streamlined. 

Which are the new technologies KL University is looking at in the near future?

KL has already imbibed emerging and niche technologies like AML, DS, 5G technology, Cloud Tech, Blockchain, FinTech, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Clinical Biotechnology, Clinical Pharmacology, 3D Design, 3D Printing, Gaming Technologies, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Satellite Program technologies in the curriculum. We have inducted Skilling Technologies and Certificate Training for improving the standards of education at our institution. We are also open to taking up any new technologies too.
