The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow held its Samvaad 2024 alumni conclave, focusing on 'Shaping India's Growth Story,' bringing together distinguished alumni, industry experts and thought leaders to discuss India's global economic role.
India celebrated its 78-year independence at Samvaad 2024, highlighting its progress in gaining international recognition. The conclave highlighted India's growth driven by consumption, services and a growing consumer class, with projections showing one-fifth of the world's working-age population by 2025 and over 850 million internet users by 2030.
The event featured four panel discussions on India's economic trajectory. The first panel discussed strategy and governance, with experts from SEBI, IRS '90 and NITI Aayog and KPMG. The second panel discussed strategy, governance and finance, with industry leaders like Girish Deshpande, Pavan Goyal and Ruishikesh Kamat. The third panel, moderated by Abhishek Singh from SalarySe, featured entrepreneurs from Suta, Lyxel & Flamingo and IndiCold. The fourth panel, moderated by Mousom Datta, focused on marketing, with experts from Tata Chemicals, SalarySe and Amazon London discussing trends, strategies and challenges in the field. The event aimed to provide valuable insights into India's growth story.
The event highlighted India's significant contribution to global growth, contributing 16 per cent in 2023. It highlighted India's tech industry, which not only boosts economic growth but also serves as a hub for innovation and technology services, shaping the future of the digital economy.
