IFI, Amity University Noida To Host Training For Teachers Of French

The French Institute in India (IFI), in collaboration with Amity School of Foreign Languages, is going to organise the International Training for Teachers of French, from 27 May to 31 May 2024 at Amity University’s Noida campus.

The ‘Université pédagogique régionale’ will cater to more than 86 French language teachers from India and the countries of Central and South Asia. It aims to provide pedagogical training tailored to the teaching contexts of French in schools, universities and Alliances Françaises, taking into account the identified needs in these institutions.

Since 2015, this is the 9th edition of the programme organised by the French Institute in India. All participants will attend a training of 30 hours (2x15-hour modules) during the week on specific aspects of teaching methodology. The training programme will be conducted by 6 expert trainers from France and India.

The training programme will cover a variety of topics, including Teaching French for Specific Purposes (FSP), adopting the principles of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in class to assess and motivate learners, recreational activities and pedagogical games in language class, pedagogy for large groups and differentiated instruction in language class, full utilisation of FLE Textbook: strategies and techniques, creative writing as a pedagogical tool and placing Francophonie at the heart of French language learning.

The opening ceremony will be held on Monday, 27 May 2024, at 9 AM in the presence of the Counsellor for Education, Science & Culture, Embassy of France and Director of the French Institute in India, Emmanuel Lebrun-Damiens, and Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Prof (Dr) Balvinder Shukla.
