ICFAI University Raipur celebrated its first Convocation ceremony at MAYFARE Lake Resort, New Raipur on October 14, 2022. Anusuiya Uikeyji, Governor of Chhattisgarh presided the programme as the Chief Guest.
Prof (Dr) RP Kaushik (Chancellor), Former Indian Ambassdor to Turkmenistan; AS Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman, ISRO; Col (Dr) Umesh Mishra, Chairman, Niji Vishwavidhyalay Viniyamakayog, Chhattisgarh; Prof (Dr) Satya Prakash Dubey, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University, Raipur, Governing Body Members, Chairpersons, dignitaries along with graduating students and their parents attended the convocation.
The Chief Guest Anusuiya Uikeyji in her address expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to be present at the first Convocation of ICFAI University Raipur. She congratulated the new graduates and asked them to make the best use of their knowledge to attain professional success. She also said that ICFAI University Raipur is one of the most prestigious institutes in the country known for imparting quality education in engineering and technology for many years.
She urged the young students to avail all opportunities provided by ICFAI University, Raipur and said that learning is an unending process, and what one learns is important when they get the opportunity to imply and contribute their knowledge to surge forward and always bring constructive change.
The Chief Guest also took the opportunity to congratulate the parents for their inspiring support to children in regard to their educational endeavour and mentioned that how well one performs in the real world always depends on one's ability to use the acquired knowledge and skills efficiently.
Addressing the students who were receiving graduate and postgraduate degrees, AS Kiran Kumar said, “As we all know, knowledge gives us strength and confidence to find success in all walks of life and education plays a key role in acquiring knowledge in a systematic way. An individual is empowered with creative thinking, knowledge and reasoning through education."
“Dear students, although you have reached a milestone in your academic life, learning never ends here irrespective of whether you go for acquiring higher qualifications or opting for a job. Learning has to be a lifelong process. It won’t be wrong to say that innovations in science and engineering are inspired by something in nature. It is the ability of human beings to observe happenings in nature, ability to see, listen comprehend its languages and laws that has resulted in alter their living conditions. Engineers in various industries world around are turning to nature for inspiration as they try to design products with better performance and lower energy consumption,” Kumar added.
ICFAI University Raipur conferred 452 degrees on PG, UG and Diploma students apart from presenting 33 gold medals and 33 silver medals to meritorious students of various departments who have graduated in the years 2018 to 2021.
Prof (Dr) RP Kaushik, Chancellor also addressed the students. Delivering the Convocation Address, Vice Chancellor Dr Satya Prakash Dubey stated that graduates are bestowed with additional responsibilities to shape the future and to serve the Nation with innovations and bring change as they are not merely a part of alumni but the torchbearers and the ambassadors of the Institute. Dr Ravi Kiran, Registrar proposed vote of thanks.
