The Education Policy which was introduced during the pandemic in 2020, when most of the students were doing the online classes led to the very less deliberations and discussions of the stakeholders of various of the Education Department. So, still, it is in the formative process when received the inputs from the various stakeholders and feedback and from the field, said Padma Jaiswal, Secretary to Government of Puducherry.
Jaiswal also said that there is a difference in the structure and also the various kinds of institutions which are in place in education department in southern states and also in the northern states. When it comes to education, as we all know, is bifurcated into three parts, primary education, secondary education and for employability that is university, she added.
She further said that the government has been introducing this particular policy of teaching children in their mother tongue and learning in the mother tongue, it doesn't mean that government is trying to dictate the application of Hindi.
By citing scientific evidence, Jaiswal said, “When we learn different languages, the various faculty of the brain, in our frontal cortex, it gets activated and our emotional intelligence, it increases and emotional intelligence in ways faculty of our brain, it increases and it gives rise to innovative kinds of other types of products and services.”
The implementation lies with the with the private sector, with the government, NGOs, when all the other agencies and various governments is to adjust the policy frameworks and also any kind of suggestions would be most welcome, secretary added.
