An entrepreneurship curriculum will be launched in the state-run schools for 9th to 12th class students.
“By entrepreneurship we mean to develop life skills, behavioural skills and to impart proper etiquettes into the minds of children in order to decondition them and make them future ready. We need to teach them to dream by sharing real life time stories so that their mind can be evolved. and by doing this we can build a better nation", said Manish Sisodia.
The state education minister also talked about the 'happiness curriculum’ which was launched in July 2018 for nursery to 8th class students for state-run schools. He further told that he has received positive responses from teachers and students regarding the ‘happiness curriculum’.
"The core aspect of the happiness programme is mindfulness. Students practice this meditation practice daily for five minutes out of the one hour happiness class", said Sisodia.
He added, "Teachers have given the feedback that this is the biggest intervention, children are less aggressive and there is a change in their behaviour. Students also admitted that they are at peace. The sense of belongingness has increased and it helps them to solve their social miseries".
V.M. Bansal, Chairman, NDIM announced that they will be conducting regular research on the 'happiness curriculum'.
Sisodia also suggested that we need to have a critical approach towards education. That one should impart education but also teach its utility in daily life.
"India is a developing country since such a long time and the biggest reason for that is that we focus on schooling not education. We only study to get a degree but not adapt those lessons in our daily life", said the Deputy CM.
