Delhi Govt. Introduces Internship Scheme For Enthusiasts Of Environment & Wildlife

Marking a significant step in fostering environmental and wildlife enthusiasm, the Delhi government has initiated an internship programme. This endeavor aims to inspire and involve young minds in the realms of environmental conservation and forestry. The program has been designed to provide a concise exposure to the diverse facets of the Department of Forests and Wildlife, GNCTD, with the ultimate goal of nurturing a deeper understanding.

The official platform for this internship endeavor, accessible at internship.eforest.delhi.gov.in, was inaugurated during the fourth Van Mahotsav ceremony held at the Polo Ground of Delhi University.

This unique training opportunity is exclusively available to students aged 18 and above who are enrolled in recognised educational institutions such as schools, colleges and universities. Candidates who articulate a clear and purposeful Statement of Purpose (SoP) for their intended internship will be given preference.

Applicants should take note that the application process is exclusively online. It is recommended to submit applications at least three months prior to the anticipated internship commencement, specifying the preferred duration of the internship. Each application must be accompanied by an SoP not exceeding 1000 words.

A notable point of consideration is that individuals who have previously completed an internship within the Department will not be eligible for consideration, as indicated on the official website.

Furthermore, selected interns will be tasked with composing a research paper or a comprehensive account that encapsulates their contributions in the realm of natural resource management. This document should cover relevant themes, address pertinent issues, and underscore the impact of their work on the Department's objectives. Successful completion of the internship will result in the issuance of a "Certificate," accompanied by a performance-based evaluation. However, it's important to note that the internship does not include any stipend or financial compensation.
