Delhi government is making extended effort to keep students from dropping out of elementary school system. With government programs to provide free IIT-JEE, NEET Coaching to students and policy revivals to mandate 220 days of schooling in government schools; the state government wishes to escalate gross enrolments and higher education intake. Scholarship programs run by Government of NCT of Delhi, are helping in bringing students back to school.
Every year scholarship schemes for students from various academic levels and socio-economic background are run by various state departments. This year some new additions have been made to scholarship corpuses by Government of NCT of Delhi.
Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 9 & 10) 2018-19, Delhi
Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 9 & 10) invites applicants from SC communities to provide monthly stipends as maintenance allowances. Students studying in government and private schools (affiliated to CBSE/ICSE/NIOS) in classes 9 and 10 with total family income from all sources not more than Rs. 2.5 Lakhs may apply for this scholarship.
Delhi’s day scholar students clearing the eligibility criteria will be awarded Rs. 225 per month stipend, and hostellers will be awarded Rs. 750 per month. A books and ad-hoc grant for day scholars worth Rs. 525 and worth Rs. 1000 for hostellers will also be provided to students to help with their expenses.

Post-Matric Scholarship for SC Students 2018-19, Delhi
Department of Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi, provides this post-matric scholarship for SC community students of Class 11 and above. Students of economically weaker sections with family income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum studying in recognized colleges and universities, may avail this scholarship.
The scholarship covers reimbursement of non-refundable tuition fees, book-bank allowance and maintenance allowance among other benefits. Hostellers may avail a maximum monthly stipend of Rs. 1200 and day scholars may avail a maximum monthly stipend of Rs. 550 depending upon their educational course.

Reimbursement of Tuition Fee for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students 2018-19, Delhi
To prevent students from dropping out of elementary education system, Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minority, Government of Delhi; is compensating students and their families for the tuition fees paid for school education. Students having Delhi domicile, studying in classes 1 to 12 at government recognized schools may apply for this scholarship.
Under this scheme 100% tuition fee reimbursement will be provided to students from families with annual income below Rs. 60 thousand per annum. 75% tuition fee reimbursement will be provided to students with annual family income between Rs. 60 thousand to Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum.

Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students 2018-19, Delhi
OBC Students of limited financial means, pursuing senior secondary and higher education at recognized colleges and institutions may avail this scholarship which covers their academic fees, maintenance expenses, and book/stationary expenses. Applicants to this scholarship are required to have a maximum annual family income of Rs. 1.5 lakhs per annum. Any student with Delhi domicile studying in classes 11 till post-graduation and above may avail this scholarship.
Applicants studying as day scholars will get monthly stipends not exceeding Rs.5000 per annum as maintenance allowance, and course fee reimbursement of Rs.10,000. Similarly, hostel students will get maintenance allowance upto Rs.10000 per annum and course fee reimbursement of Rs.20000 under this scholarship scheme.

Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC Minority Students 2018-19, Delhi
Meritorious students of Delhi from SC/ST/OBC or Minority communities may avail this scholarship based on their previous year’s performance. Applicants studying at recognized colleges/universities and institutions with more than 60% marks in previous academic year are eligible for this scholarship. Such students should also adhere to the family income limits of Rs.2 Lakhs per annum.
This merit based scholarship covers monthly stipends of maximum Rs.1620 for hostellers and maximum Rs.900 for day scholars pursuing under-graduate courses. Similarly, for post-graduate students; hostellers are eligible for maximum Rs.1860 per month and day scholars are eligible for maximum Rs.960 per month allowances. These allowances depend on the course being pursued by applicant.

Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students (Class 1 to 12) 2018-19, Delhi
To promote the scholastic achievements of students from minority communities, the state government of Delhi provides this scholarship to students studying in classes 1 to 12. Resident families of Delhi, whose wards have attained education from Delhi based schools for at least last three years may apply for this scholarship. The students from SC/ST/OBC communities with family income not more than Rs.2.0 lakhs per annum and more than 70% attendance in the previous academic year are eligible for this scholarship. The financial assistance will be provided based on academic scores of the students.
Students from class 6 to 8 will be awarded with up to Rs.720 per annum based on their academic scores of previous year. Similarly, class 9 to 10 students will get maximum Rs.2040 per annum as scholarship and class 11 to 12 students will be awarded maximum Rs.4500 per annum based on their academic performance.
