CBSE declared X standard results on May 13, 2024, with a remarkable 93.60 per cent pass rate. Continuing the legacy, Girls outperformed boys, by securing 94.8 per cent this year. Top achievers shared their strategies and success stories

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the X standard results on 13 May, with an overall pass percentage of 93.60 per cent. Out of 22,38,827 candidates appearing for the examination, 20,95,467 students emerged victorious, securing passage to the next academic phase. 

This year, 2.1 lakh students scored over 90 per cent, with 47,983 scoring 95 per cent or higher. Throughout the state, Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 94.8 per cent.

Ayaan Abbott, Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon Scored 97.60 per cent

Ayaan Abbott, a student from Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon, shared, “I plan to study Maths and Physics in the future to pursue a career in aeronautics, I believe that aerospace is where the future of travel lies, leading to interplanetary travel. I have always focused on consistency, enjoyment and stress reduction to prepare for exams, I used to practice various questions on each topic, identifying my strengths and weaknesses and creating a timetable for each subject. I aimed to complete the syllabus by December to practice the previous year and model question papers.

I always believe that the right amount of stress ensures performance peaks at the right moment. Regular study is key to keeping stress at bay and if stressed, I used to seek help from my parents and teachers.” Ayaan has also shared his mantra "Koshish Karne Walon ki Kabhi Haar Nahi Hoti" which helped him keep going.”
 

Navya Sundararajan, Shiv Nadar School, Noida Scored 98.6 per cent

Navya Sundararajan, a student from Shiv Nadar School, Noida, shared, “I had planned to study Economics and Maths for my bachelor's degree. My preparation journey was consistent, especially in maths and I have approached the exams with a cool mind.” Navya has shared some tips for students preparing for board exams next year, such as, “Approaching the exam for its merit, not panicking over unfamiliar questions and staying consistent with studies. She has also shared her stress management strategies, stating that her parents did not put pressure on her, just focusing on her work and aiming for good results.”
 

Avi Saraf, Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad Scored 97.8 per cent

Avi Saraf, a Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad student, shared,My student's journey has been fulfilling and focusing on maximising extracurricular activities and academics through events like Capstone and Robocup, with the teachers’ constant support. My main focus was on presentation and answer writing, I have always preferred the school library for studying, even during preparatory leaves and board exams.” Avi has also shared some helpful tips, “Include using NCERT as a guide for board exams, limiting study material and sources to avoid confusion and impacting performance.”
 

Priyanshu Rajain, Sachdeva Public School, Rohini Scored 97.83 per cent

Priyanshu Rajain, a student from Sachdeva Public School, Rohini, shared, “I have focused on Science, Maths, French and AI, to improve my vocabulary and prioritising Social Science by memorising every point from every paragraph in NCERT and revising them. Health is also crucial, with sleep, managing screen time and blocking social media. I found that sleeping was the best method to relax and retain information. I used to exercise for at least 45 minutes daily and took a morning walk to maintain my physical well-being. Overall, my preparation strategy was focused on achieving a perfect score and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.” Priyanshu also advises students to, “stay focused, pay attention to the syllabus, prioritise NCERT first and keep the revision game strong, prepare short notes to use last-minute revision time.”
 

Gopika Sehgal, Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar Scored 92.2 per cent

Gopika Sehgal, a student from Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar, shared, “I planned to study in India and to pass the NEET exam after 12th standard. My strong subjects are Science, Punjabi and Math, so I primarily focused on English and I used practice tests and question banks for English. Focusing on English and analysing previous years' board papers will help solidify my preparation for the upcoming exams. I used to listen to music and talk to my parents and grandparents to cope with the stress during exam preparation.” Gopika advises students to, “Analyse previous years' board papers, as the board exams have a similar pattern each year. Overpreparing and giving too many mocks can be detrimental to preparation. The NCERT is a reliable board preparation source and should be the primary material. A few books are sufficient, but study them properly.”
 

Judgebir Singh, Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar Scored 91.6 per cent

Judgebir Singh, a student from Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar, shared, “I have scored 94 in Science and Social Science and 88 in Maths. I chose the science stream and aimed to crack a competitive exam. I am planning to pursue Civil Engineering from IITs and settle abroad.” Judgebir also advises for the next year's board exams, “Overthinking can decrease self-confidence and increase tension, to score high marks, one’s should analyse last year's board exam and use mock tests for time management.”
 

 Khushpreet Dhillon, Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar Scored 92.2 per cent

Khushpreet Dhillon, a Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar student, shared, “I have scored 95 marks in Social Science and 93 marks in English. I plan to complete a BSc in nursing at UBC in Vancouver, Canada. I have always focused on Mathematics and Physics, using PYQs and NCERT for Mathematics and NCERT for Physics. I used to binge-watch, listen to music and eat my favorite food to cope with the stress.” Khushpreet also advised, "Students should analyse previous year's papers’ it will help in increasing proficiency in different types of probable questions and not over-preparing.”
 

 Samarpreet Kaur, Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar Scored 95 per cent

Samarpreet Kaur, a Central Convent School, Patti, Amritsar student, shared, “ I have scored 99 marks in Punjabi and 97 marks in Science. I have chosen medical studies to clear neet and secure a seat in the best medical college and to achieve good scores, I have developed a study strategy and routine, focusing on each subject and understanding concepts. I have also solved Python problems.” Samarpreet advises students, “Not to take stress but to focus on the studies and teachers' teachings. Studying NCERT is crucial for good exam scores.”

 

Anshika Saxena, Amity International School, Sector-1 Vasundhara Ghaziabad Scored 99.4 per cent

Anshika Saxena, a student from Amity International School, Vasundhara Ghaziabad, has achieved a perfect score in Maths, Science, French and AI and opted for the PCM P.Ed stream in class 11. She also shared, “I want to become an engineer from one of the topmost colleges, and to achieve that, I am preparing for the JEE exam. My preparation journey is filled with complete hard work and no shortcuts, I used to analyse where I was making mistakes in the preboards, so I won't repeat them. I used to listen to music, play guitar, play badminton and take breaks between studies to manage the stress.” Anshika shares some tips for students preparing for board exams next year, “Following NCERT books for subjects like SAT and Science, NCERT and RD Sharma for Maths and practicing previous year papers and sample papers issued by CBSE.”

 

Abhay Sharma, Amity International School, Sector-1 Vasundhara Ghaziabad Scored 99.6 per cent

Abhay Sharma, a student from Amity International School, Vasundhara Ghaziabad, shared, “I believe that the NCERT textbook, exemplar and sample papers provided by teachers and CBSE sample papers are the best sources for studying. My teachers have provided some well-made assignments and encouraged me to do the previous year's question papers during my preparatory days. I would suggest everyone include thorough reading of the NCERT, writing practice, solving multiple question papers, questionnaires and assignments within a three-hour timeframe for better preparation. To cope with the exam stress; I used to draw on my sketchbook and talk to my parents, brother and friends.”
 

Jia Rajput, Amity International School, Sector-1 Vasundhara Ghaziabad Scored 99.6 per cent

Jia Rajput, a student from Amity International School, Vasundhara Ghaziabad, has achieved a perfect score in Mathematics, Social Science and Artificial Intelligence and she has opted for the PCM stream in class 11. She also shared, “I am planning to pursue a career in Mathematics and Physics. My complete board exam preparation was a strategy; I was focusing on gaining conceptual clarity and I was regularly practicing on required topics, utilising my resources and sample papers provided by teachers. I would recommend other students to maintain a regular studying and exercise schedule and do not over-stress or judge yourself based on your grades.”
 

 
Aditi Tiwari, GD Goenka Public School, Dwarka Scored 96.8 per cent

Aditi Tiwari, a student from GD Goenka Public School, Dwarka, shared, “I have opted for the PCM stream and I am also preparing for the JEE exam. I have thoroughly studied NCERT books and notes and have clarified my doubts with my subject teachers during my board exams preparation and after completing the syllabus, I began reading additional books and practicing with previous years' question papers and sample papers for better understanding. I would recommend completing the NCERT syllabus first and then including solving sample papers at least one month before the boards.”
 



Kanishk Jindal, GD Goenka Public School, Dwarka Scored 98.2 per cent 

Kanishk Jindal, a student from GD Goenka Public School, Dwarka, has achieved a perfect score in Artificial Intelligence and 99 in Mathematics and Science. He also shared, I always wanted to pursue Engineering in Computer Science and I have also started preparing for IIT-JEE. My overall board exam preparation journey was smooth until the boards were near, with a relaxed approach throughout the year. I believe that only the things studied at the end of the year mattered in the boards and the pre-boards designed by the school helped maintain consistency in studies.” Kanishk also shared some tips for students preparing for board exams next year, “Do not panic and get stressed about the boards or the moment before that. Boards are designed to cater to students of every level and should focus on concepts and skills rather than rot-learning."
