CBSE Releases Procedure For Class 10-12 On Exams & Subject Change

The CBSE has released a detailed schedule for various aspects of classes 10 and 12, including admissions, subject changes, attendance and more. This schedule is aimed at ensuring the smooth progression of activities for the 2024 examinations. 

The document, titled 'Framework and Significant Guidelines In The Context Of The Secondary And Senior Secondary Certificate Examination For Guidance Of the Schools,' outlines the necessary steps.

According to the provided schedule, the process of submitting the list of candidates (LOC) for classes 10 and 12 will commence on August 14 and extend until September 13, with no late fees. Submissions with late fees will be accepted from September 14 to 22.

The guidelines specify that schools must manage direct admissions separately for classes 10 and 12, forwarding relevant cases to the appropriate regional office. Any deficiencies in admission cases need to be resolved by August 31.

In cases where students apply for a change in subjects, schools are required to create a list of such requests and forward them to the regional office. Schools must address any issues that arise and ensure the correct subject names are submitted in the list of candidates (LOC) by August 31.

Furthermore, schools are granted the time until August 31 to gather data concerning students with special needs. This information should be sent to the regional office, with any deficiencies resolved, and details subsequently submitted to the LOC portal.

For those interested in participating in Olympiads or sports competitions, students need to submit their requests by December. The schools will then forward these requests to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) or the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for recommendations. By December 31, the schools will send the requests to the regional office for approval, which will be finalized by January 15.

Finally, requests concerning the admission of wards of armed forces and paramilitary personnel who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty should be submitted by January 31.
